HOW ARE EAR, NOSE, AND THROAT CONDITIONS TREATED?
Once you arrive at our Kalispell, MT facility, one of our experienced team members will take you to a private treatment room to review your symptoms and perform an examination. They will likely ask about your medical history, any current medications you’re taking, and more. After looking at your ears, nose, and throat for signs of redness, drainage, and irritation, they may take throat cultures, which will be sent to our on-site lab. Based on the findings of our staff and any labs performed, we can determine your condition and create a treatment plan. Typically, we have no choice but to let most viral infections heal on their own — usually within a week or two. Cough medicine, pain relievers, gargling with salt water, hot tea, and nasal saline rinses may help you find some relief during this period. If we find that you have a bacterial infection, we may prescribe an antibiotic. Either way, it’s very important to get plenty of rest and hydration when you’re not feeling well.
